Multilingual writing of European directives is faced with a few linguistic difficulties, like choosing an appropriate legal terms. All linguistic versions shall reflect the same content event though the legal system of each Member State is different and some legal concept do not have an equivalent in other legal systems. In this way, legal writing of European Directive is a very complex subject both from legal and linguistic perspective. The aim of this article is to discuss different linguistics difficulties that could appear during the harmonisation of criminal proceedings in European Union, where multilingualism is a key value and to analyse the possible solutions, when dealing with those difficulties. It seems that even if multilingualism is a big challenge to European Union, it could have a positive influence on the quality of European legislation.

Multilingualism is a value that the European Union has been protecting and supporting since its creation. The principle of equality of the official languages of the Union becomes the proof of respect that the Community has towards all cultures and national identities of the member-countries citizens. Yet, this value has attracted much criticism. We decided to analyze the phenomenon of multilingualism in the Union, asking after Milian I Massana: is it a myth or reality (2002: 47)?

In this paper, we study, in a comparative approach, the notion of dialogism and the manner of its insertion in the text of Sahar Khalifé, Ghada El-Samman, Annie Ernaux and Hélène Cixous. The analysis of stylistic Arab and French works reveals how dialogism enters the textual space, through language use, language that is constantly plagued otherness. Thereby manifests a spring of writing that brings the dialogue with others to build a "story", a scriptural language activity and operating in the manner of "grafting" of co-locating the text in a between.
