Technologie informacyjne w służbie działalności misyjnej Kościoła. Próba przybliżenia najważniejszych szans i zagrożeń

The author asks the question whether the teaching of information technologies in the context of missionary activity have any sense. Even if the answer appears to be obvious the problem is worth taking a  closer look. At the beginning the author recup the meaning of the terms “the missions” or “the missionary activity” observing that this notion is not limited to a situation of underdevelopment, but is conditioned by lack of the knowledge of Christ and / or lack of the presence of His Church. Next the author expounds the domain of “information technologies” (IT) and their practical application in the contemporary life, especially in the area of education. His main focus is on the topic of so called e-learning. After that the author shows “the past and today” of IT in the cathechetical and missionary effort of the Church. IN the last section of the article, the author shows 7 areas where the missionary using IT in his work can find the pair of opposites “threat-opportunity”and they are: technology, creativity, information by itself, crime, health, social life, evangelization and cathechesis.

Autor stawia problem, czy nauczanie technologii nformacyjnych w kontekście pracy misyjnej ma sens. Choć odpowiedź wydaje się oczywista problem wymaga głębszego zbadania. Na wstępie autor przypomina, jak należy rozumieć „misje”, czyli „działalność misyjną”, oraz że te pojęcia nie są ograniczone do sytuacji niedorozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznego, ale są uwarunkowane relacją do znajomości Chrystusa lub / i obecności Kościoła. Następnie ukazuje, jakie jest pojęcie technologii informacyjnych (IT) i jakie jest ich zastosowanie we współczesnym życiu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem działalności edukacyjnej. W sposób szczególny skupił się na zagadnieniu kształcenia na odległość za pomocą tychże technologii, czyli tzw. e-learningu. Następnie ukazał „wczoraj i dzisiaj” e-learnigu w katechezie i duszpasterstwie misyjnym.Na zakończenie autor ukazał siedem aspektów związanych z wykorzystaniem technologii informacyjnych w pracy misyjnej, w którym może występować para: „zagrożenie - szansa”. Są to: technologia, twórczość, informacja, przestępczość, zdrowie, społeczeństwo/społeczność, ewangelizacja/katechizacja.
