The figure of enumeration is one of the most common linguistic devices appearing in information articles published on popular websites. It marks its presence on many levels of language (especially syntax, lexis, style) and text (in a title, the initial and final segments, subheadings). This study aims at describing the enumeration according to the following criteria: structural, semantic, stylistic, thematic, functional, and these pertaining to text type. The analysis showed that enumeration serves important functions, among others: it helps to condense extensive content, present it in a syntactically sparse form, and at the same time is strongly persuasive. Due to its particular linguistic form – owing to various means of artistic expression – it is also an ornament of expression. Moreover, considering the fast pace of life we currently experience and the abundance of information, the large number of occurrences of enumerations in Internet information articles may be an indicator of a departure from a more complicated, longer narration, which is being replaced by series of enumerations whose construction is much simpler.

Figura wyliczenia należy do najczęstszych środków językowych pojawiających się w artykułach informacyjnych zamieszczanych na popularnych portalach internetowych. Zaznacza swą obecność na wielu płaszczyznach języka (zwłaszcza składni, leksyki, stylistyki) oraz tekstu (w tytule, segmencie inicjalnym, finalnym, śródtytułach). Celem niniejszego studium jest opis enumeracji według następujących kryteriów: strukturalnego, semantycznego, stylistycznego, tematycznego, funkcjonalnego oraz form podawczych. Analiza pokazała, że enumeracja pełni ważne funkcje, m.in. kondensuje rozbudowaną treść, podaje ją w oszczędnej składniowo formie, a przy tym jest silnie perswazyjna. Ze względu na wyróżniający się kształt językowy – dzięki różnorodnym środkom artystycznego wyrazu – jest także ornamentem wypowiedzi. Ponadto duża liczba wystąpień enumeracji w artykułach informacyjnych, szczególnie przy tak szybkim jak obecnie tempie życia i natłoku informacji, może być przejawem odchodzenia od bardziej skomplikowanej, dłuższej narracji, którą zastępują prostsze w konstrukcji szeregi wyliczeń.

The role of media narratives in politics is particularly important in the time of narrative media, which interpret reality more than they report on the course of events. The article presents the results of research on the content of TV news programs Wiadomości of TVP, Fakty of TVN, and weeklies Polityka, Newsweek and W Sieci from the period preceding the parliamentary campaign in 2015. The aim of the analysis was to determine to what extent the election materials illustrate the activities of the political actors and how many prepared narratives were intended to clearly suggest to the voters who to vote for. The conclusion drawn from the research is that positive and coherent narratives can significantly increase the chance of achieving electoral success.
