The paper focuses on the negotiation and mediation matter during Polish as a foreign language class. We think that the main goal of teaching process should be dialogue. The first part of our text evokes chosen publications describing modern way of teaching. In the second part we present and explain how to use mediation strategies in practice. We also describe how to use the same literary text in different circumstances and how to work using it when we teach different language level students.
