The paper aims to determine the role of social capital in a process known as the internationalization of the firm. The first part of the article focuses on the concept of corporate social capital as developed by economists Roger Leenders and Shaul Gabbay. The author discusses the features of ties between individual businesses and the structure of these ties as factors shaping the quality of social capital gathered inside a network. The author identifies social capital with a network of business ties, describing social capital as a term with a neutral connotation. Then the network model of the internationalization of the firm is invoked to build a theoretical bridge between social capital and the internationalization of the firm. Under this approach, the main factor behind the internationalization of the firm is membership in an appropriate network of ties. Finally, the author reviews research reports in terms of both gains and potential burdens linked with participation in the network from the perspective of the internationalization process. The coexistence of the positive and negative aspects of corporate social capital may suggest that social capital both stimulates and impedes the internationalization of the firm, Doryń says; however, the current state of empirical research in the analyzed area does not make it possible to put forward any normative recommendations to businesses, she adds. Overall, Doryń concludes that the issue of social capital and its influence on the internationalization of enterprises should be examined in combination with the specific goals of the firm.

Статья посвящена последнему монографическому исследованию Беаты Рыцельской Języki słowiańskie w świetle lingwistyki kognitywnej. Studium przypadków, опубликованному в 2020 году издательством Księgarnia Akademicka в Кракове. Исследователь хорошо известен в среде славистов. Ее книга носит сравнительный и трансдисциплинарный характер и отличается когнитивным, семиотическим, культурологическим, антропоцентрическим и социологическим подходами. В монографии представлены вопросы, связанные с категоризацией мира в контексте сетевой модели Рональда У. Лангакера. В русско-польском сопоставлении автор обсуждает префиксальные аффиксы, возвратную морфему, предлог в выражениях с винительным и местным падежами, а также категорию дательного падежа в безличных конструкциях с возвратным глаголом. Исследует также избранные концептуальные категории с учетом теории концептуальной метафоры, основанные на литературных произведениях русских и польских авторов и их переводах. В статье я отмечаю научные, дидактические и методологические качества этой книги, которая инновационным образом представляет и систематизирует знания в области универсальных когнитивных ценностей.

The article presents the latest monographic study by Beata Rycielska, Języki słowiańskie w świetle lingwistyki kognitywnej. Studium przypadków, published in 2020 by the respected publishing house Księgarnia Akademicka in Kraków. The researcher is well recognized in the Slavic scholarly community. Her book is comparative and transdisciplinary in nature, distinguished by its cognitive, semiotic, cultural, anthropocentric, and sociological approaches. The monograph work addresses issues related to the categorization of the world in the context of Ronald W. Langacker’s network model. By juxtaposing Russian and Polish, the author discusses prefixal affixes, a reflexive morpheme, a preposition in phrases with an accusative and locative, and the category of the dative in impersonal constructions with a reflexive verb. She also examines selected conceptual categories, taking into account the theory of conceptual metaphor, based on the literary works of Russian and Polish authors and their translations. The article presents the scientific, didactic and methodological values of this valuable book which presents and systematizes knowledge in the field of universal cognitive values in an innovative way.

Artykuł prezentuje najnowsze opracowanie monograficzne Beaty Rycielskiej pt. Języki słowiańskie w świetle lingwistyki kognitywnej. Studium przypadków, które ukazało się w 2020 r. nakładem cenionego wydawnictwa Księgarnia Akademicka w Krakowie. Badaczka jest dobrze rozpoznawalna w środowisku slawistów. Jej książka ma charakter komparatywny i transdyscyplinarny, ponieważ wyróżnia ją podejście kognitywistyczne, semiotyczne, kulturowe, antropocentryczne i socjologiczne. Monografia przybliża w sposób erudycyjny kwestie związane z kategoryzowaniem świata w kontekście modelu sieciowego Ronalda W. Langackera. Autorka omawia w rosyjsko-polskim zestawieniu afiksy prefiksalne, morfem zwrotny, przyimek w wyrażeniach z biernikiem i z miejscownikiem oraz kategorię celownika w konstrukcjach bezosobowych z czasownikiem zwrotnym. Rozpatruje też wybrane kategorie pojęciowe z uwzględnieniem teorii metafory konceptualnej w oparciu o utwory literackie rosyjskich i polskich twórców oraz ich przekładów. W artykule prezentuję walory naukowe, dydaktyczne i metodologiczne tej wartościowej książki, która w sposób nowatorski przedstawia i systematyzuje wiedzę z zakresu uniwersalnych wartości poznawczych.
