Suchedniów to niewielkie miasto zlokalizowane w północnej części województwa świętokrzyskiego, w powiecie skarżyskim, około 30 km od Kielc. Ośrodek swoje początki zawdzięcza bogatym złożom surowców oraz rozwijającemu się hutnictwu żelaza. Gdy przemysł oparty na wytopie żelaza upadł, w jego miejsce pojawiły się inne obiekty przemysłowe, które zatrudniały setki pracowników. Na przełomie XX i XXI w. odnotowano wyraźny zanik przemysłu na rzecz rozwijającej się w tym regionie turystyki, zwłaszcza wypoczynkowej. Wskazuje na to m.in. rozwijająca się infrastruktura noclegowa. Bogata historia miejscowości jako prężnego centrum przemysłowego oraz liczne ślady z tego okresu w formie porzuconej infrastruktury kuźnic lub większych fabryk mogą posłużyć do ukierunkowania i dalszego rozwoju turystyki poprzez właściwe zagospodarowanie tych obiektów w Suchedniowie. Trend, jakim jest turystyka industrialna, stanowi doskonały sposób na zagospodarowanie historycznych obiektów przemysłowych, pamiętających czasy Staropolskiego czy Centralnego Okręgu Przemysłowego.

Suchedniów is a small city, located in the northern part of the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship, in the Skarżysko district, about 30 km from Kielce. The present city owes its origins to the rich deposits of raw materials and the metallurgy. When the industry based on the iron smelting has collapsed, other industrial facilities have appeared in its place, employing hundreds of peoples in this time. At the turn of the 20th and 21st century, industry was clearly disappearing in favor of developing tourism in this region, especially recreational. This is visible, among others, in intensive developing of accommodation infrastructure. The rich history of the city as a large industrial center and many traces from this period in the form of abandoned infrastructure of forges and factories can be used to direct and further develop tourism through proper use of these facilities in Suchedniów. The industrial tourism trend constitutes a great way to develop historical industrial facilities, that remember the times of Old Polish or the Central Industrial District.
