These reflections were inspired by the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University of Lublin. This occasion was an opportunity to organize a conference entitled “Contemporary Dilemmas of Education. Theory and Practice” Participants of this academic meeting were given a chance to get acquainted with an outline of the Faculty development. Furthermore, the aim of the conference, which was attended by representatives of the scholarly community from numerous academic centers, was to show: new tendencies in pedeutological research and teacher training, new trends in education, contemporary challenges of pre-school education, education and self-education in resocialization and rehabilitation of disabled persons, problems of early-school education – the theoretical perspective and practical solutions, dilemmas of contemporary culture in the educational context, the notions of care and education of children and teenagers in Polish journalism in the past and nowadays, contemporary transformations in the national and the European labor market from the educational and social perspective, modern media in educational prospects. This text presents the keynotes appearing in presentations of experts attending the Lublin conference.
