The article describes the non-professional running field in Poland. It indicates main factors influencing its development, describes the characteristic features of an amateur runner and analyzes the offer of cross-country events dedicated to non-profession runners as well as some chosen causes of popularity of them. The analyzed area is shown in a broader context of world trends.
