Celem artykułu jest ukazanie roli kompetencji cyfrowych w świetle wybranych dyrektyw i wskazań UE oraz w odniesieniu do ich modelowego ujęcia zaprezentowanego w polskim Ramowym Katalogu Mediów Cyfrowych z 2014 roku. Autorka opisuje rolę kompetencji cyfrowych we współczesnej cywilizacji medialnej oraz ich usytuowanie w odniesieniu do innych kompetencji kluczowych dla rozwoju człowieka oraz podnoszenia jakości jego życia. Osobne miejsce zajmują zastosowania kompetencji cyfrowych w sferze pracy, edukacji, usług oraz codziennych relacji społecznych.

This article aims to show the role of digital competences in the light of some directives and guidelines of the EU and in relation to their model approach presented in the Polish Framework Catalogue of Digital Media of 2014. The author describes the role of digital literacy in contemporary civilization, media, and their location in relation to other key competences for human development and improving the quality of life. A separate space is held by the use of digital competence in the sphere of work, education, services and everyday social relations.
