The adoption of the “view from here” perspective means that ethics is not treated as a completed set of the ready-made answers to moral problems. Norms are general and objective, the decision-making situation of the agent is individual and subjective. We always decide “here and now” and “those and not others”. The perspective of the “view from here” may be reduced but it cannot be completely freed from it. However, this does not mean that the subjective perspective cannot be reconciled with the objective one. Objective norms remain a point of reference for subjective decisions, and when we manage to objectify some element of the individual (subjective) context of our actions, it is included into the “view from here”.

Przyjęcie perspektywy „widoku stąd” sprawia, że etyka nie jest traktowana jako kompletny zbiór gotowych odpowiedzi na problemy natury moralnej. Normy są ogólne i obiektywne, sytuacja decyzyjna podmiotu indywidualna i subiektywna. Decydujemy zawsze „tu i teraz” i „tacy a nie inni”. Perspektywa „widoku stąd” może być redukowana, ale nie da się od niej całkowicie uwolnić. Nie znaczy to jednak, że perspektywy subiektywnej nie da się pogodzić z obiektywną. Normy obiektywne pozostają punktem odniesienia dla subiektywnych decyzji, a kiedy jakiś element indywidualnego (subiektywnego) kontekstu naszego działania udaje się nam zobiektywizować, zostaje włączony w „widok stąd”.
