Artykuł przedstawia analizę głównych czynników, trendów oraz najistotniejszych aspektów rozwoju regionalnego Republiki Czeskiej, które kształtowały się w czasie transformacji ustrojowej oraz w okresie przedakcesyjnym. Konstrukcja artykułu jest następująca: część wstępna zawiera krótki opis podstawowych trendów rozwoju regionalnego po upadku komunizmu. Kolejne części dotyczą identyfikacji głównych czynników rozwoju regionalnego oraz analizy podstawowych zróżnicowań regionalnych. W części końcowej autor podejmuje próbę nakreślenia prawdopodobnych przyszłych zmian w tendencjach rozwoju regionalnego.

The article provides the analysis of main factors, trends and patterns of regional development in the Czech Republic during the transformation and pre-accession period. The paper is structured in the following way. It starts with a brief elaboration of basic trends in regional development since the collapse of communism, then proceeds to the identification of the main factors of regional development. In the final part, the author outlines the possible future patterns of regional development in the Czech Republic.
