The article addresses practical issues related to working with court-appointed expert witnesses in traffic accident matters. The problems of providing opinions by court-appointed expert witnesses have been presented in two perspectives: the perspective of the court deciding the case, and the perspective of expert witnesses providing their opinions in the criminal case. The author analyses in detail the criminal procedure preconditions for the acceptance of expert witness evidence by the court, and presents selected cases depicting the scale of problems related with cooperation with court-appointed expert witnesses in traffic accident matters.Since courts resort to expert witness opinion in traffic accident cases very often, this subject deserves special attention.

Artykuł został poświęcony praktycznym problemom współpracy z biegłymi w sprawach wypadu drogowego. Praktyczne aspekty opiniowania biegłych sądowych  zostały zaprezentowane na dwóch płaszczyznach - z perspektywy biegłych sądowych oraz z perspektywy sądu orzekającego. Autorka poddaje szczegółowej analizie obowiązujące przepisy prawne z zakresu  prawa karnego procesowego oraz stanowiska Sądu Najwyższego i Sądów Apelacyjnych oraz wskazuje na przykłady spraw sądowych obrazujących faktyczne problemy współpracy z biegłymi sądowymi. Z uwagi na częstotliwość wywoływania w postepowaniu sądowym opinii biegłych sądowych w sprawach wypadku drogowego tematyka ta  zasługuje na szczególną uwagę.
