The aim of this study is to present the influence of a shortened lingual frenulum on the change in the quality of articulation in a pre-school child. The intense growth in the orofacial complex is observed in children between 4 and 6 years old, which results in enlarged space for tongue movements. The girl, whose case is described in this article, found it difficult to achieve proper articulation contacts in the enlarging structures of the orofacial complex.

Speech therapist focuses on speech disorders and their determinants. The article contains some tips useful in extraoral examination as a part of diagnostic procedure in speech disorders. Moreover, the observation of these structures and functions can be done easily. The article contains diagnostic sheets in the form of tables useful in collecting data, interpretation and usage in further stages of diagnostic procedure.

Logopeda – oprócz oceny zjawisk językowych – poszukuje przyczyn stwierdzonych w ich obszarze nieprawidłowości. Niniejsze opracowanie zawiera szereg wskazówek diagnostycznych, dotyczących zewnątrzustnych warunków morfologiczno-czynnościowych, możliwych do obserwacji „na pierwszy rzut oka”. W publikacji zawarto arkusze diagnostyczne w formie tabel, które mają ułatwić logopedzie zbieranie danych, a potem ich interpretację i wykorzystanie w dalszych etapach postępowania diagnostycznego.

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przedstawienie wpływu skróconego wędzidełka na zmianę w jakości wymowy u dziecka w wieku przedszkolnym. Okres między 4. a 6. rokiem życia przypada na fazę intensywnego wzrostu struktur twarzoczaszki, co skutkuje zmianą wielkość przestrzeni dla ruchów języka. Dziewczynka, której przypadek opisano w niniejszym artykule, w okresie objętym obserwacją w zmieniających się warunkach anatomicznych, nie była w stanie – pomimo wysiłków – utrzymać prawidłowych kontaktów między narządami artykulacyjnymi.

Współpraca pomiędzy pedagogami i logopedami stanowi istotny element w opiece nad dziećmi z zaburzeniami mowy, w tym z wadami wymowy. Nauczyciele powinni posiadać niezbędne minimum wiedzy logopedycznej, która pozwoli im zauważyć u wychowanków nieprawidłowości w rozwoju mowy, a także zidentyfikować czynności sprzyjające powstaniu zaburzeń w zakresie komunikacji językowej. Artykuł stanowi doniesienie z badań, których głównym celem było przedstawienie poziomu wiedzy nauczycieli oraz studentów edukacji wczesnoszkolnej i wychowania przedszkolnego na temat nieprawidłowości zespołu ustno-twarzowego i ich wpływu na powstanie zaburzeń artykulacyjnych. Celem badań było także poznanie opinii respondentów na temat potrzeby kształcenia pedagogów w tym zakresie.

Cooperation between educators and speech therapists represents an important element in the care of a child with speech disorders, including speech impediments. Teachers should also have the minimum of knowledge on speech therapy which will allow them to notice abnormalities in speech development in children as well as identify activities which promote the development of language communication disorders. The paper presents the findings of the research whose main aim was to present the level of knowledge of teachers and students of pre-school and early school education on abnormalities of the orofacial complex and their impact on the development of articulation disorders. In addition, the aim of the research was to get acquainted with the opinions of respondents on the need to educate teachers in this respect.
