The main purpose of this article is to show the relationship between the liturgy and popular piety especially in the Middle Ages. Particularly at that time the unity of Paschal Mystery was broken up in the faithfull’s minds. Due to the religious and cultural changes in the medieval period the passion devotion was born as less theological form of experiencing the relationship with Jesus Christ focused more on its emotional aspect.

The paper intends to show the way in which Z. Herbert presents in his works the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ, by the virtue of which the Christian redemption took place. Is the meaning of „redemption” in Herbert’s poetry to be identified with the one presented in biblical theology? To answer that question the author of the article discusses five poems that speak about the Passion of Christ (Namarginesie procesu, Męczeństwo Naszego Pana malowane przez Anonima z kręgów mistrzów nadreńskich, Hakeldama, Rozmyślania Pana Cogito o odkupieniu, Domysły na temat Barabasza). There the references to the core of Christian faith are very clear. Special attention should be paid, however, to poetical allusions that also show Herbert’s personal approach to the Christian message.

I propose in the present article a reflection upon the mystery of God’s love, revealed and materialized in Jesus Christ, which directly relates to the community of the Church. The analyzed texts have been taken from the last book of the New Testament. One of the essential features of ecclesiology in the Apocalypse is a conviction that the Church is a community begotten from Jesus’ love, invariably upheld, enhanced and led through Christ’s love. I have chosen texts from the Apoca-lypse which explicitly refer to Jesus’ love to the Church and express this idea by means of two characteristic verbs of John’s tradition, namely agapao and fileo. Although the said verbs are not often employed in the Apocalypse (four times: 1:5; 3:9; 12:11; 20:9 and two times: 3:19; 22:15 respectively), they are, however, mostly used in passages which describe a relationship between Christ and the community of the Church (1:5; 3:9-19; 20:9). During the liturgy, the Church worships Jesus, whose love is the foundation for everything (1:5): it is expressed through deliverance from sin, a sacrifice of one’s own life and man’s participation in Christ’s victory and reign. The Church is obliged to show the world a clear testimony to love (3:9). It is being incessantly admon-ished and brought up by Christ, called up to renew zeal and conversion (3:19). As “the camp of the saints and beloved city” (20:9), the Church actively participates in the battle against evil and, sup-ported by the loving God and Lamb, it lives on assured of Christ’s ultimate victory.

The article is an attempt to systematize the Wacław Hryniewicz’s interpretation of the Christ’s redemptive mysteries. That is why the article demonstrates the importance of the Holy Spirit thanks to whom the paschal mystery is continued in the Church – the glorious Body of Christ. In that way, people of the all times can participate in the mystery of Christ to unite with Him. The Christ’s redemptive mysteries are actualized in a mysterious, but real way by the word of God, faith, sacraments and human activity. The author of the paschal trilogy gives weight to the thought, that there is one, the same and undivided presence of Christ and the Holy Spirit. Thanks to them all the redemptive means, that is preaching, cult, service become the area of spiritual revival and resurrection for the human. The article tries to answer how the Christ’s redemptive mysteries are actualized. It emphasize that all redemptive means of the Church overcome and complete each other.

Salvador Dalí, one of the most famous Surrealist artists, and 20th century painters, highly imaginative, eccentric, know for his unusual behaviour, maybe best-known for his work ‘The Persistence of Memory’, was also the author of religious paintings. From them on the christological or rather staurological-resurrectional criterion can be distinguish group of paintings which in very original way are connected to paschal mystery’ themes. These pictures and their staurological-resurrectional contents are subject of this article. These pictures have been analysed in three points: Last Supper, Crucifixion, Resurrection. Dalí’s staurological-resurrectional works show thematic dependencies and relationships not only in the indicated groups but also between them. It shows Dalí’s coherent method of artistic expression – nuclear mysticism. In his painting this is a kind of synthesis mysticism and sciences, especially atomic and nuclear physics, in presentation religious contents, especially christological.Dalí’s works are not refer directly to paschal events, but present significance of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection for whole universe, for all creation, and especially for a man. Dalí’s pictures shows that Christ by his death and resurrection transformed world in new creation, that He has been present in world history and waiting with an offer of salvation (especially in Eucharist) for every man, that He wants to bring all people and whole creation into heaven, and in this way complete His Ascension. Dalí shows heaven as reality very close to man, available for him at all the time. People can participate in heaven, if they are open to God’s reality. Dalí pictures helps to see that human life is in constant relationship to God which is not far away, but very close, although in another dimension.

The present paper is focused on the problem of consecrated virginity. A consecrated virgin is a sign of Church’s love for Christ, what situates the consecrated virgin in the community of the Church essentially as a prophetic person and a kind of example for other faithful. Her virginity, which is her characteristic feature, is for her both a gift from God and a task to realize within her vocation. Consecration of a virgin means the establishment of a spousal covenant between her and Christ. Therefore the first paragraph focuses the attention on Christ as a Bridegroom both of the Church and of every Christian, and finally of every consecrated virgin. The second paragraph discusses the virginity as a gift both to Mary and to the Church, as well as to the consecrated virgin. The third paragraph deals with the tasks of the consecrated virgin resulting from her virginity. The present paper is the ninth Author’s publication concerning the individual forms of consecrated life. The presented viewpoint is a formational proposition for both consecrated virgins and candidates for consecration.

The article raises the issue of hope of universal salvation, which is not knowledge, certainty about the ultimate faith of man after death, but only hope based on God’s revelation contained in the Holy Bible. A Swiss Catholic theologian, Hans Urs von Balthasar (1905-1988), undertook in the twentieth century the matter of hope for salvation. A Lublin ecumenist Wacław Hryniewicz (born in 1936) has been dealing with this issue in Poland for many years. This article discusses synthetically the views of both theologians in a mutual relationship. Both of them refer to the Bible talking about God as love. Such an image of God is incompatible with the vision of eternal hell as a punishment without prospects for improvement and conversion of man. The argumentations concern the philosophical and theological nature of man as a being of freedom. It also refers to the testimonies of Christian mystics and saints in favour of hope of universal salvation. This idea is located in the concept and reality of God’s mercy and converges with it.

Artykuł podnosi kwestię nadziei powszechnego zbawienia. Zagadnienie to podejmował szwajcarski teolog katolicki Hars Uns von Balthasar (1905-1988).

Jesus’s call raising marriage to sacramental dignity points to the inadequacy of the law within the meaning and formation of a special relationship between a man and a woman. On the other hand it does not mean its redundancy. This ratio is considered to be constitutive and results from the creation of man in God’s image and His likeness. This image has not been destroyed even by a human sin that interferes with the relationship with God and between the spouses. It also has not destroyed the covenant with God of which the marriage is the image. Fulfilling this covenant in Jesus Christ, God renews the relation of a man towards a woman as well as the relationship of a man towards God .Resulting from the creation the unity of the spouses in the New Covenant shall be covered by the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ and is a real performing salvation. Beyond , the reality is open to eschatology and immersed in church as the bride of Christ forming the pattern and strengthen the covenant of marriage which is in Jesus Christ, a community of grace and the basis for understanding people.

The present time of the coronavirus pandemic is a challenge for all humanity. The Church, which lives in the present world, is called to experience the same events with all of humanity, although interpreting them through the lens of faith. One expression of such a reading of events is the liturgy, in which the Church addresses God, telling Him what it experiences and asking His for the appropriate succor in the current situation. Responding to the spiritual needs of the clergy and the faithful, the Holy See’s Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has released the text of a special Mass, entitled “In Time of Pandemic.” The contents of the prayers contained within it reveal clear theological lines that can help us to live as Christians during this time of trial. This article is an attempt at a hermeneutical reading of the collect of the above-mentioned Mass formula. The analyses that are presented in the text lead to theological conclusions concerning such basic issues such as the image of God, the identity of believers, the content of Christian prayer, and the lifestyle that the latter inspires. In this context, “The Mass in Time of Pandemic” was created. The content of prayers contained in it reveals clear theological lines that can help us to live this time of trial in a Christian way. This article is an attempt of hermeneutical reading of the collect of the Mass mentioned earlier. The analyses that are presented in the text lead to theological conclusions that include basic issues such as the image of God, the identity of believers, the content of Christian prayer and the style of life that it inspires.
