Bezpieczeństwo w lotnictwie cywilnym decyduje o życiu wielu ludzi i zabezpiecza infrastrukturę techniczną. Obok bezawaryjnego wykonywania lotów, bezpieczeństwo obejmuje także ochronę przed aktami bezprawnej ingerencji. W artykule zaprezentowano podstawowe akty prawne regulujące bezpieczeństwo lotów oraz stosowane w tym celu systemy zabezpieczeń. Zaprezentowano w nim metody i narzędzia zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa podróżnych i bagażu wykorzystywane przez zarząd Lotniska im. Lecha Wałęsy w Gdańsku. W artykule wskazano także kierunki dalszych udoskonaleń dotyczących zwalczania zagrożeń w portach lotniczych.

The Safety of Civil Aviation is crucial for protecting of human’s life and ensuring a proper technical infrastructure. In addition to trouble-free operation during flights, the Safety of Civil Aviation protects against any acts of unlawful interference. The article presents the basic legislation governing the safety of flights and applied security systems. The described methods and tools implemented by the Airport’s Board at the Lech Walesa Airport in Gdansk ensure the safety of passengers and baggage. The article also identifies directions for further improvements in order to minimize risks and to eliminate threats at the airports.
