Turbulent environment is a source of uncertainty for every company in all areas of activity. Uncertainty then creates risk, which can lead to crises or even to the collapse of the firm. One of the fields affected by risk is human relations management. The risk connected with this area is called personal risk. The aim of the article is to define what personal risk is and what consequences are associated with it, as well as to present a tool which can be used to reduce the level of personal risk. According to the author, personal controlling is such a tool.

W artykule przedstawiono węzłowe kwestie merytoryczne i metodyczne kształtowania potencjału pracy w przedsiębiorstwie turystycznym. Szczególną rolę przypisano wszelkim działaniom odnoszącym się do programowania rozwoju potencjału kwalifikacyjnego pracowników. Działania te powinny mieć charakter kompleksowy i zgodny z realizowaną strategią personalną firmy.

Due to a service character of tourist enterprises, the basic role in its operations is played by human resources. Employees participating in the process of service provision become a part of the tourist product being created. Their attitude, behaviour, appearance determine the quality of the product perceived by the customer. Following this, the value and uniqueness of the qualifying potential become the most valuable asset of the tourist enterprise. Taking into account the above-mentioned facts, any activities which concern programming the development of employees' qualifying potential should be attributed a special role. Such activities should be of a complex character, consistent with the personal strategy applied by the company.
