A specific context of philosophical specialization “philosophical anthropology and philosophy of culture” in contemporary discourse of philosophy is clarified in the paper in its connection with others philosophical disciplines. The actualization of practical philosophy as philosophy of agency is of particular significance for such clarification. The given deliberations are illustrated by the quatations of classical authors.

Традиційно філософську антропологію зараховують до теоретичних філософських дисциплін, натомість філософію культури — до практичних. Незважаючи на це, пов’язаність цих дисциплін в одну спеціальність не є формально випадковою. І філософська антропологія і філософія культури у своєрідний спосіб мають власним підґрунтям, але разом з тим і уможливлюють розвиток практичної філософії в її сучасному статусі філософії дії.
