The main aim of the present study is to indicate the most salient elements of the image of pigeons and doves in Classical Sanskrit literature (kāvya). The author has identified three groups of such elements, which are dealt with in three separate sections of the paper: pigeons and doves are discussed as birds closely associated with humans, as well as symbols of love and sorrow. With the help of this information, in another section of the paper, selected kāvya stanzas featuring pigeons or doves are analysed in more detail.

This article deals with the topic of breeders and the introduction of individuals into the ranks of society with the participation of socialization and development of appropriate attitudes conditioning proper functioning in the interpersonal space in terms of pigeon breeding. It also aims to discuss the role of human-animal collaboration, to raise awareness of pigeons constituting an invaluable resource and their breeders as moral guides. This article shows the inclusion of animals and being in their company as one of the possible variants of an individual’s development in the psychological, biological and social spheres. In the course of observation and establishing relationships with pigeons, the understanding of actions taken towards oneself and other individuals develops, along with the development of specific attitudes. The article presents opinions expressed by individual breeders of racing and fancy pigeons.

Artykuł podejmuje temat hodowców i wprowadzania jednostek w szeregi społeczeństwa przy udziale socjalizacji oraz kształtowania odpowiednich postaw warunkujących właściwe funkcjonowanie w przestrzeni międzyludzkiej w ujęciu hodowli gołębi. Tekst również ma na celu przedstawienie roli współpracy ludzi ze zwierzętami, poszerzeniu świadomości na temat dostrzegania nieocenionych zasobów w postaci gołębi i ich hodowców jako moralnych przewodników. Praca ukazuje włączenie zwierząt i przebywanie w ich towarzystwie jako jeden z możliwych wariantów rozwoju ludzi w sferze psychologicznej, biologicznej oraz społecznej. W toku obserwacji i nawiązywania relacji z gołębiami rozwija się rozumienie działań podejmowanych względem siebie oraz innych jednostek, a przy tym kształtowanie określonych postaw. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wypowiedzi poszczególnych hodowców gołębi pocztowych oraz ozdobnych.
