The first sanctuary on Góra Chełmska was built in 1214 and became a famous Marian pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. The Reformation caused disappearance of the Marian cult on Góra Chełmska. It was only in 1991 that Góra Chełmska regained its religious character by building the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Thrice Wonderful. The specificity of this place is the possibility of obtaining three pilgrimage favors through the intercession of Mary as the educator of a new man in a new community. The Szensztadt Movement, founded by Fr. Josef Kentenich (1885–1968) developing in our diocese. The chapel on Góra Chełmska is one of the filial sanctuaries and bears the name of the Sanctuary of the Covenant. In their formation, the aim is for a person to deepen their Marian spirituality by making a covenant of love and working out a home sanctuary. Important are contributions to the capital of graces that help to live holiness every day and to live faith in God’s providence. The presence of the sanctuary on Góra Chełmska with various pastoral initiatives helps to do this. The emerging Pilgrimage and Tourist Center will also be conducive to the recreational character of this beautiful forested area and will establish culture-forming purposes.

Pierwsze sanktuarium na Górze Chełmskiej zbudowano w 1214 r. i stało się znanym maryjnym miejscem pielgrzymkowym w średniowieczu. Reformacja spowodowała zanik kultu maryjnego na Górze Chełmskiej. Dopiero w 1991 r. Góra Chełmska odzyskała charakter religijny dzięki zbudowaniu sanktuarium Matki Bożej Trzykroć Przedziwnej. Specyfiką tego miejsca jest możliwość uzyskania trzech łask pielgrzymkowych za wstawiennictwem Maryi jako Wychowawczyni nowego człowieka w nowej wspólnocie. Z tym tytułem Maryi utożsamia się Ruch Szensztacki założony przez ks. Józefa Kentenicha (1885–1968), rozwijający się w naszej diecezji. Kapliczka na Górze Chełmskiej jest jednym z sanktuariów filialnych i ma imię Sanktuarium Przymierza. W formacji dąży się do tego, by osoba pogłębiała swoją duchowość maryjną poprzez zawarcie przymierza miłości, a także wypracowanie sanktuarium domowego. Ważne są wkłady do kapitału łask pomagające w przeżywaniu świętości na co dzień i życie wiarą w Opatrzność Bożą. W tym pomaga obecność sanktuarium na Górze Chełmskiej z różnymi inicjatywami pastoralnymi. Powstające Centrum Pielgrzymkowo-Turystyczne będzie sprzyjać również charakterowi rekreacyjnemu tego pięknego zalesionego terenu i zakłada cele kulturotwórcze.
