Abortion and planned motherhood are topics present in the Polish social discourse of the interwar period, touching upon politics, law, medicine, morality, and religion. This topic has repeatedly been the subject of heated debate, and it has showcased radically opposing views in women’s printed press, both those leaning towards the left and to the right, but also conservative and religious stances. The text highlights the arguments of journalists in the Second Polish Republic who support the liberal abortion law and their criticism in conservative circles.

Aborcja i świadome macierzyństwo to tematy obecne w polskim dyskursie społecznym, w tym politycznym, prawniczym, medycznym, obyczajowym i religijnym, w okresie dwudziestolecia międzywojennego. Temat ten był po wielokroć przedmiotem zagorzałych dyskusji, nierzadko ukazując skrajnie przeciwstawne poglądy na łamach prasy dla kobiet, zarówno tej o orientacji lewicowej, jak i konserwatywnej, a także katolickiej. W tekście wyeksponowano argumenty publicystów w Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej opowiadających się za liberalnym prawem aborcyjnym oraz ich krytykę w środowiskach konserwatywnych.
