Attitude towards the Other can be considered in the context of religion in relations to the positions which religion appreciates or even creates through its ideological sphere. The aim of the following text is to show the change, introduced by postmetaphysical interpretation of religion, which refers to the perception of I and the Other relationship within religion. The beforementioned change is motivated by the will to reduce violence of the given metaphysical interpretation of religion in which the Other is presented as a Stranger. In contrast, on the grounds of postmetaphysical religion the Other becomes Guest, thanks to which an attitude deprived of violence is appreciated.

The idea of the end of history is of philosophical importance and is broadly commented by the representatives of various philosophical traditions. In the following text we present the way in which this idea is understood in the postmetaphysical thought by referring to three of its representatives: Gianni Vattimo, Odo Marquard, and Villém Flusser. In spite of the differences between their accounts of the end of history, one can also see a certain common trait connected mostly with the understanding of history as a metanarrative and with the critical attitude towards metaphysics.

Idea końca historii jest nośna filozoficznie i szeroko komentowana przez przedstawicieli wielu tradycji filozoficznych. W niniejszym tekście przedstawiamy, jak owa idea jawi się w filozofii postmetafizycznej, odwołując się do trzech jej reprezentantów: Gianniego Vattima, Odo Marquarda i Viléma Flussera. Mimo różnic, które występują w ich ujęciach końca historii, można także zauważyć pewien wspólny rys, związany głównie z rozumieniem historii jako metanarracji oraz z krytycznym stosunkiem do metafizyki.

Paul Ricœur podejmuje tę kwestię w wielu tekstach, jednak publikacją, która interesuje nas szczególnie w tym artykule, jest Zło. Wyzwanie rzucone filozofii i teologii. Książka Ricœura stanowi punkt wyjścia do rozważań na temat statusu klasycznej metafizyki oraz kwestii przemocy. Refleksje dotyczą odniesienia myśli francuskiego filozofa do koncepcji innych współczesnych myślicieli, szczególnie Marquarda, Sloterdijka i Vattima.

The problem of evil is one of the most frequently discussed in philosophy. Paul Ricœur addresses it in many texts, but the publication which interests us the most in this article is Evil. Ricœur’s book constitutes a starting point for the reflection about the status of classical metaphysics and about the problem of violence. Our inquiries concern the relation of the French thinker’s concept with other contemporary theories, especially those of: Marquard, Sloterdijk, and Vattimo.
