Artykuł przedstawia krytyczną analizę koncepcji tzw. Bezwarunkowego Dochodu Podstawowego (ang. Unconditional Basic Income – UBI) jako instrumentu walki z ubóstwem i nierównościami społecznymi. Autorka ukazuje ideę bezwarunkowych świadczeń dla obywateli w kontekście definicyjnym, historycznym, europejskim i polskim. Wiele miejsca poświęca dyskursowi ideologicznemu i sporom o wymiar finansowy, społeczny i moralny takich programów wsparcia. W efekcie, Autorka odrzuca definitywnie koncepcję UBI jako nie tylko szkodliwą, nieodpowiedzialną, ale także nierealistyczną z punktu widzenia obciążenia dla finansów publicznych.
