Oświadczenie woli pacjenta jest dokumentem o szczególnym znaczeniu. Zgodnie z zapisem zawartym w oświadczeniu pro futuro pacjent deklaruje, że w określonych sytuacjach w przyszłości nie chce, aby wobec niego podejmowane były jakiekolwiek lub określone interwencje medyczne. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie tematyki oświadczenia pro futuro wraz ze wskazaniem problemów, jakie niesie ze sobą stosowanie tego oświadczenia. Zagadnienie oświadczenia woli pacjenta wobec interwencji medycznej zostało poddane analizie w oparciu o dostępne polskie oraz międzynarodowe ustawodawstwo odnoszące się do tego zagadnienia oraz analizę piśmiennictwa specjalistycznego w tym zakresie.

A patient’s will statement is a document of special importance. In accordance with the provision included in the pro futuro statement, the patient declares that in certain situations in the future he does not want any or specific medical interventions to be taken against him.The purpose of this article is to present the subject of the pro futuro statement with the indication of the problems related to the use of this statement. The issue of a patient’s will statement regarding medical intervention will be analyzed based on available Polish and international legislation related to this issue and the analysis of specialized literature in this area.
