The aim of the study is to analyse the productivity of land, labor and fixed assets as well as total efficiency in dynamic terms according to the economic size of farms in Poland. The basic source of information were standard results obtained by farms participating in the Polish FADN (ang. Farm Accountancy Data Network). In the first stage of the research, the productivity of factors of production was analysed with the use of partial indicators of land, labor and fixed assets productivity. In order to determine the total impact of production factors on production, the non-parametric DEA method (Data Envelopment Analysis) was used. The total efficiency of farms was analysed in dynamic terms, using the Malmquist productivity index (TFP - Total Factor Productivity). The research shows that the highest productivity of land, labor and fixed assets as well as total efficiency (TFP) was achieved by large and very large farms, therefore an important condition for building and maintaining the competitiveness of farms is the improvement of the agrarian structure of Polish agriculture.

Celem pracy jest analiza produktywności ziemi, pracy i majątku trwałego oraz efektywności całkowitej w ujęciu dynamicznym według wielkości ekonomicznej gospodarstw rolnych w Polsce. Podstawowym źródłem informacji były wyniki standardowe uzyskane przez gospodarstwa rolne uczestniczące w Polskim FADN (ang. Farm Accountancy Data Network). W pierwszym etapie badań analizowano produktywność czynników wytwórczych, wykorzystując cząstkowe wskaźniki produktywności. W celu ustalenia łącznego wpływu czynników wytwórczych na produkcję, posłużono się nieparametryczną metodą DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Efektywność całkowitą gospodarstw analizowano w ujęciu dynamicznym, wykorzystując do tego celu indeks produktywności Malmquista (TFP – Total Factor Productivity). Z badań wynika, że największą produktywność ziemi, pracy i majątku trwałego jak i efektywność całkowitą (TFP) osiągnęły gospodarstwa duże i bardzo duże, zatem istotnym warunkiem budowania i utrzymania konkurencyjności gospodarstw jest poprawa struktury agrarnej polskiego rolnictwa.

The article aims at descriptive and statistical analyzing of spatial diversification of main macroeconomic categories, such as capital-labor ratio, labor productivity and total factor productivity across Polish regions/voivodships in the years 1995–2009. The capital-labor ratio is associated in the paper with fixed assets per employee, the labor productivity – with GDP per employee, whereas total factor productivity is computed on the basis of a regional production function. The article contains and comments on, firstly: descriptive analyses of spatial diversification of the afore-mentioned characteristics, secondly: estimates of the Cobb-Douglas production function at regional level, thirdly: estimates of total factor productivity across the voivodships and finally: descriptive results of special diversity of the afore-mentioned characteristics.
