W artykule skupiono się na ukazaniu zjawisk związanych ze słowotwórstwem przymiotników w polszczyźnie południowokresowej. Podstawę materiałową analizy stanowią wyrazy rodzime i obcego pochodzenia, typowe dla polszczyzny kresowej. Omówiono sufiksy najbardziej produktywne i typowe w mowie badanych mieszkańców. Patrząc na system słowotwórczy, zwraca się uwagę na ekspresywność. Ta sama podstawa przymiotnikowa może wchodzić w kontakt z wieloma formantami, które intensyfikują cechę przymiotnika. Ekspresywność ma w gwarze o wiele większy zakres niż w języku ogólnopolskim. Analizowana próba ujawniła także różnice międzypokoleniowe. Zestawiając przymiotniki utworzone od różnych w stosunku do języka literackiego pierwiastków oraz formacje identyczne pod względem podstaw, lecz z innymi przyrostkami, można ustalić, że produktywne są formanty przymiotnikowe -owaty, -awy, -uszczy itp., które swoim zasięgiem obejmują również gwary polskie na wschodnim pograniczu naszego kraju.

In this article I will focus on the presentation of phenomena related to the word-building of adjectives in the Polish southern borderland. The material basis of the analysis are words of native and foreign origin, typical of Polish language of the borderland. I present the most productive and typical suffixes in the speech of the surveyed inhabitants. Looking at the word-building system, attention is drawn to an important feature which is expressiveness. The same adjective base may come into contact with many formants, which intensify the adjective attribute. Expressiveness has a much greater scope in the dialect than in the national language. The sample also revealed inter-generational differences. Combining adjectives formed from elements different from the literary language and formations identical in terms of foundations, but with other suffixes, it can be established that adjective formations are productive: -owaty, -awy, -uszczy. These are also found in Polish dialects on the eastern border.
