Wolontariat europejski i jego recepcja w Polsce

W artykule przedstawiono istotę i znaczenie wolontariatu, jako formy wsparcia społecznego współistniejącej obok profesjonalnej pomocy społecznej. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań zrealizowanych w stuosobowej grupie studentów Wydziału Pedagogiki i Psychologii Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku. Badania ilościowe metodą sondażu diagnostycznego przeprowadzono w celu określenia świadomości dotyczącej Wolontariatu Europejskiego (EVS) oraz jego recepcji wśród młodzieży akademickiej. Wynika z nich, że EVS nie jest popularny wśród studentów Wydziału, natomiast jego odbiór zarówno wśród osób mających rozeznanie w Wolontariacie Europejskim, jak i tych, które usłyszały o nim po raz pierwszy, jest bardzo pozytywny. Istnieje potrzeba informowania, zwłaszcza młodzieży akademickiej, o Wolontariacie Europejskim, gdyż widoczne jest znaczące zainteresowanie tym tematem.

In the paper the essence and significance of voluntary is shown, as a form of social support, coexisting next to professional welfare. The results of the research concerning European Voluntary Service and its perception in Poland, conducted among 100 students of University in Bialystok, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology are presented. The quantitative research has been done by the means of an opinion poll. The aim of the research was to determine social awareness concerning European Voluntary Service and its perception among students in Poland. Conclusions from the research are the following: European Voluntary Service is not popular in Poland, but its perception, even among people who do not know much about it, is very positive. Moreover, there is a need to inform young people about EVS, because the interest in this kind of volunteering is noticeable.
