A question was put forward in the article: what was the legal status of women of the knightly class during the period of feudal fragmentation in the Duchy of Cracow-Sandomierz and what was the fate of those women? The conclusions were drawn on the basis of documents created in Little Poland during period the under discussion in which women are mentioned. They appeared in the documents most often together with their husbands or as widows granting charters mainly for the benefit of the Church, or they were mentioned with regard to the matters that concerned them. In light of the known documents it should be concluded that there was possibility of women disposing of their property in the province of Cracow -Sandomierz during the period of feudal fragmentation. Some women appear in several documents that usually concerned the same issue.

W artykule postawiono pytanie: jaka była pozycja prawna kobiet z warstwy rycerskiej w okresie rozbicia dzielnicowego w księstwie krakowsko-sandomierskim oraz jakie były losy tych kobiet. Podstawę do wnioskowania stanowiły dokumenty powstałe w Małopolsce w omawianym czasie, w których wzmiankowane są kobiety. Występowały one w nich najczęściej z mężami lub jako wdowy dokonując nadań głównie na rzecz Kościoła, bądź były wzmiankowane w związku ze sprawą, która ich dotyczyła. W świetle znanych dokumentów należy stwierdzić możliwość rozporządzania własnością majątkową przez kobiety w dzielnicy krakowsko-sandomierskiej w okresie rozbicia dzielnicowego. Niektóre kobiety pojawiają się w kilku dokumentach, zwykle dotyczących tej samej sprawy.
