Artykuł stanowi przegląd najważniejszych informacji dotyczących niemieckiego ubezpieczenia rentowego na wypadek śmierci ubezpieczonego lub rozwodu. Autor prezentuje w nim dane statystyczne o skali poszczególnych rodzajów sytuacji rodzinnej w niemieckim społeczeństwie, omawia przepisy odnoszące się do warunków nabywania uprawnień do świadczeń z tytułu opisanych wyżej ryzyk. Tekst wieńczy próba oceny tej części systemu zabezpieczenia społecznego.

This article provides an overview of the most important information on German invalidity insurance in the case of the insured partys death or divorce. The author presents statistical data on the scale of the particular types of family situation within German society, and discusses the provisions referring to the conditions of acquiring entitlements to benefits due to the risks described above. An attempt at evaluating this part of the social security system concludes the text.
