The embroidery and appliques were transferred on to the new base The completely destroyed constructions of the bottom fringes, three tassels and six weights of decorative rope were reconstructed with the use of old elements. The missing metal elements of the flagstaff were also reconstructed. The following materials were used in the conservation and reconstruction work: natural silk fabric, linen cloth, natural silk yarn and thread, cotton cord, natural silk string. All these materials were dyed with permanent water and light resistant dyes produced in Poland, Switzerland and Germany. The experience acquired during conservation work on the banner made it possible to outline the technique of gluing thin fabrics and to acquire skills in this area.
