Przyjmując że jasne, proste i precyzyjne formułowanie tak Wspólnotowego Dorobku Prawnego, jak i prawa wewnętrznego każdego Państwa-Członka Wspólnoty Europejskiej jest warunkiem wstępnym dla właściwego wprowadzenia w życie i jednolitego stosowania prawodawstwa wspólnotowego w Państwach-Członkach WE Parlament Europejski, Rada Unii Europejskiej i Komisja Wspólnot Europejskich przyjęły 22 grudnia 1998 r. Umowę międzyinstytucjonalną o wspólnych wytycznych odnośnie do jakości redagowania prawodawstwa wspólnotowego. Szósta zasada ogólna redagowania prawodawstwa wspólnotowego, sformułowana w tej Umowie, stanowi, że „(…)Te same pojęcia są wyrażane przez te same terminy (wyrazy), których zakres, w miarę możliwości, nie odbiega od znaczenia, jakie im nadaje język potoczny, język prawniczy lub techniczny”. Leksykon tematyczny Wprowadzenie do nauk prawnych, w rozdziale pt. Norma postępowania jako wyrażenie języka zawiera definicję jednoznaczności normy,która okazuje się być tożsamą z cytowaną szóstą zasadą ogólną redagowania WDP. Język prawodawstwa w Polsce, jak i przekład WDP na język polski nie są pozbawione szeregu błędów.

Bearing in mind that clear, simple and precise drafting of Acquis communautaire, as well as of any national law, is a prerequisite for the proper implementation and uniform application of Community legislation in the Member States, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the Commission of the European Communities adopted on 22 December 1998 the Interinstitutional Agreement on common guidelines for the quality of drafting of Community legislation. The sixth general principle of drafting from this Agreement says that “(…) Identical concepts shall be expressed in the same terms, as far as possible without departing from their meaning in ordinary, legal or technical language.” Introduction to the Theory of Polish Law(Wprowadzenie do nauk prawnychin the Polish language) contains the definition of unequivocal legal norm which turn out to be identical with the sixth principle from the Interinstitutional Agreement. The language of Polish legislation, as well as the translation of Acquis communautaireinto Polish are not devoid of numerous mistakes.
