This article sets out to present possible application of bibliotherapy in the social therapeutic process. Bibliotherapy and social therapy share such elements as: education, correction of behavioural disorders, personality enhancement, and the prevention of social maladjustment. While analysing the goals of the aforementioned methods, a thesis has been proposed that they may be common for both. Bibliotherapy may serve as reinforcement of the social therapeutic process by enriching it and making it more enjoyable. Its goal is to build up the participants’ personal resources, supporting them in difficult situations, and providing a therapeutic impact. The article points out the key role that a literary text plays in the bibliotherapeutic process, and constitutes a starting point for bibliotherapeutic interactions. The article emphasises the potential of literature as a tool for the therapeutic and educational process, social rehabilitation and health improvement. Thus, social therapy may approach bibliotherapy as a way to enrich its educational and therapeutic offer.

Psychoeducation is currently used in many areas of life, including psychiatry. It is difficult to imagine the modern process of treating people with mental disorders without the use of psychoeducation as a necessary, permanent element of this process, in addition to pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Psychoeducational programs are used primarily in the treatment of people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and those suffering from bipolar affective disorder (BPAD). These programs are not only directed to the patient, but they are also addressed to their family members and friends. The article presents the possibilities of using selected psychoeducational programs, including the PEGASUS program, the Barcelona Psychoeducation Program and the Krakow Program for People with BPAD, as well as limitations of their application. The goals of these programs, their structure and effectiveness were also presented.

This study aimed to review the literature on anorexia prevention programmes targeting the general population and populations at risk and to describe the programmes selected for the review. Methods: The review was conducted under the PRISMA guidelines. The following digital databases were explored: PsychINFO, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and Web of Science. 412 records, including 92 full-length research articles, were critically analysed. Fourteen studies that met all inclusion criteria were ultimately included in the analysis. Results: Most studies described prevention programmes for adolescents or young adults. The majority of the reviewed programmes targeted girls and young women. General and selective prevention programmes were the predominant types of interventions. The evaluated programmes differed considerably in content, modality, and duration. All of the reviewed studies have been published in the last 18 years. Conclusions: Further research is needed to develop anorexia prevention programmes that are more effective, deliver more lasting outcomes, and can be applied in various populations. Methods supporting the broad implementation of such programmes should also be identified.
