Despite the commitments stemming from the Malta Convention, archaeological contractors in Poland have no legal obligation to disseminate their research. In consequence, the vast majority of the results, in particular those of rescue excavations, remain unpublished. For the team of the Profil-Archeo Publishing House, this disproportion became a stimulus for establishing a “Saved Archaeological Heritage” publishing series open to all parties involved in archaeological heritage protection in Poland. The overarching goal of the series is to provide public access to high-quality information about the heritage being destroyed - or rather the part that has been “saved” thanks to preventive excavations (a form of conservation by record). So far, seven volumes of the main series and three volumes of the “Miniatures” series have been published. In this paper, the authors report successes and problems related to the project, and postulate legal changes that should include, in particular, the obligation to publish the results of archaeological research.

The purpose of this article is to present the publishing series titled Źródła do Dziejów Kościoła Katolickiego na Śląsku, which appeared on the publishing market in late 2013 and early 2014 on the initiative of Rev. Prof. Jerzy Myszor of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Silesia in Katowice. To date, 30 items have been published under the series.By design, the series under discussion refers to and continues the series of source publications initiated in the interwar period called Fontes. While analysing and interpreting the individual titles of the series and characterizing the layout, the author of the article divided the published sources into four thematic blocks: martyrdom of priests; pilgrimage ministry; priestly service, i.e. church hierarchs in the service of the homeland; editorial development of archival materials. The separate thematic groups are united by the concern of the authors and editors for historical memory, the development of Silesian studies and humanistic research, for which the published materials can provide a reliable basis.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie serii wydawniczej Źródła do Dziejów Kościoła Katolickiego na Śląsku, która pojawiła się na rynku wydawniczym na przełomie 2013 i 2014 roku z inicjatywy ks. prof. Jerzego Myszora z Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach. Dotychczas w jej ramach ukazało się 30 pozycji.Z założenia omawiana seria nawiązuje do zainicjowanej w okresie międzywojennym serii wydawnictw źródłowych pod nazwą Fontes i ją kontynuuje. Autorka artykułu, poddając analizie i interpretacji poszczególne tytuły serii oraz charakteryzując szatę graficzną, dokonała podziału opublikowanych źródeł na cztery bloki tematyczne: męczeństwo kapłanów; duszpasterstwo pielgrzymkowe; służebność kapłańska, czyli hierarchowie kościelni w służbie ojczyzny; edytorskie opracowanie archiwaliów. Wyodrębnione grupy tematyczne łączy troska autorów, redaktorów i edytorów o pamięć historyczną, rozwój zagadnień śląskoznawczych oraz badań humanistycznych, dla których wydawane materiały stanowić mogą rzetelną bazę.

„Biblioteka Księgarza” to seria wydawnicza firmowana i prowadzona przez Stowarzyszenie Księgarzy Polskich, ale publikowana przez kilka różnych oficyn wydawniczych, takich jak Wiedza Powszechna, czy Państwowe Wydawnictwa Szkolnictwa Zawodowego. Seria ukazywała się w latach 1960−1965, obejmując łącznie dziewięć pozycji przydatnych w kształceniu przyszłych adeptów zawodu księgarza. Publikacje mają proste opracowanie graficzne wynikające z ich edukacyjnego charakteru. Ta kilkuletnia akcja wydawnicza została prawie całkowicie zapomniana, ale pozycje, które ukazały się w jej ramach, stały się dziś źródłem informacji o zasadach funkcjonowania placówek księgarskich PRL. Zamieszczone w poszczególnych opracowaniach informacje dotyczące m.in. schematu organizacyjnego Centrali Księgarstwa „Dom Książki”, organizacji sprzedaży wysyłkowej czy też zasad obliczania marży kolporterskiej mogą być wykorzystane przy omówieniu różnych zagadnień związanych z organizacją sprzedaży książek w minionej epoce.

Biblioteka Księgarza is the publishing series administered by the Association of Polish Booksellers, but published by various publishing houses such as Wiedza Powszechna and Państwowe Wydawnictwa Szkolnictwa Zawodowego. The series came out in the years 1960–1965 and included nine units useful in the education of future booksellers. The publications have a simple graphic layout. The series have been almost entirely forgotten, but the nine publications are now the source of information about how bookshops operated during the times of the Polish People’s Republic. The information, which may be used in discussions about various aspects connected with the sale of books in the communist times, concern the organizational composition of the Headquarters of Booksellers “Dom Książki”, the organization of mail order sales, and the calculation of the margin for distributors.

Die Veröffentlichungen unter dem Namen „Biblioteka Księgarza“ gehören zu einer Verlagsreihe, die vom Verband der BuchhändlerInnen in Polen herausgegeben wurde und in den Jahren 1960−1965 in verschiedenen Verlagshäusern wie Wiedza Powszechna oder Państwowe Wydawnictwa Szkolnictwa Zawodowego erschien. Sie umfasste insgesamt neun Publikationen, die bei der Bildung der künftigen BuchhändlerInnen behilflich waren. Sie zeichnen sich durch eine einfache Bildgestaltung aus, was aus ihrem bildenden Charakter hervorgeht. Diese Verlagsaktion, die einige Jahre hindurch dauerte, wurde inzwischen fast völlig vergessen, aber die Publikationen, die doch erschienen sind, gelten heute als Informationsquellen über die Buchhandlungen der Volksrepublik Polen. Die in den einzelnen Bearbeitungen angeführten Angaben u. a. zur Organisationsstruktur der Buchhandlungszentrale „Dom Książki“, zum organisierten Versandverkauf oder zur Berechnung der Austrägermarge können bei der Erläuterung verschiedener Fragen, die mit der Struktur des Buchverkaufs in der vergangenen Epoche verbunden sind, behilflich sein.
