The analysis of the issue of school religion lessons, implemented in the distance learning system, allows for the formulation of the following conclusions. First, it should be remembered that the school religion class is part of catechesis. In Polish pastoral conditions, it can be said that it is even a valuable and important element of it. Secondly, while implementing remote teaching of religion lessons, the priority is still the goal and tasks of catechesis, which implement the care for mature faith. Thirdly, the teacher of religion (catechist) should be competent in the field of the latest information techniques, and at the same time should be faithful to the kerygma. Fourthly, a teacher of religion (catechist) should take care of independent preparation of classes, appropriate selection of content, cooperation with parents, as well as be systematic and consistent.

The question concerning how modern religion lesson should look like is still a current one and is often discussed by catechists. An important issue is to decide what kind of language to use in catechesis in order to reach the todayʼs youth. Therefore, in this article, there has been undertaken an attempt to present slang as a specific language which uses its own separate vocabulary and sometimes is understandable solely to a few. The language like that is being used by the todayʼs youth who wants to emphasize its independence. The religion teacher who stands in front of young people has to make a difficult decision whether to use slang to deliver important catechetical contents or not. The final question concerning the slang usage is still open for it has both its followers and opponents.

The presence of religion classes at school in the debate on the education system rises to the rank of one of the most frequently discussed topics. In Polish postmodern society there are more and more voices that treat religion as a purely private matter. In the ecclesiastical dimension, it is also favored by the phenomenon of pluralism and individualization of religiosity, as well as its gradual deinstitutionalization. In the cultural and social context outlined in this way, the presence of religious education in a school that is neutral in terms of beliefs is not obvious. For this reason, the aim of this article is to deepen the existing arguments for religious education in public schools in Poland and to search for new arguments of a non-theological nature, understandable to non-believers and the religiously indifferent.

Analyzing German pedagogical-religious publications that appeared in 2009, the author answers the question about the direction, in which modern German religious pedagogy is heading. Tendencies dominating in the works by German religious educationalists are subjected to assessment from the Polish perspective, among them being: understanding of religious pedagogy, the issue of interreligious teaching of religion, the integrity and correlation of the issues taught at school, or empirical research in religious pedagogy.
