The aim of the publication is to outline the concept of research in the area of economic crime, which has been outlined on the basis of the undertaken research issues related to the implementation of the research task, entitled: “Optimization of evidence, forensic and operational activities in cases of economic crime from the perspective of law enforcement authorities”, which will allow to create an effective model for combating it. In the article, current research problems have been identified. The research project will include actions aimed at defining, designing and then determining the possibility of implementing practical tools to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement. An important research element, which is a basis for formulating specific conclusions and recommendations, will be to conduct a survey of opinions and expectations of practitioners concerning the possibilities of improving the detection process. The assumed research concept also involves diagnosing economic crimes (in terms of evidence, forensic and operational aspects). There are cases of evidence-intensive, multi-aspect cases in which the methods of action of the perpetrators constitute a challenge for law enforcement agencies in the legal or tactical aspect. Corresponding to the diagnosed research problems, several research levels have been proposed, such as causes, scale of economic crime, dynamics of crime, methods and mechanisms of committing crimes, and ways of counteracting them. As a result of in-depth research on the phenomenon of economic crime, proposals for specific solutions will be worked out, which may constitute a specific compendium of knowledge on the issues raised. The research concept covers a wide range of issues that correspond to the current challenges in combating this type of crime. A detailed description of the problems, and the research concept adopted allows us to conclude that the results of the research may be theoretically valuable and useful for science and practice. This publication constitutes a preliminarily research concept adopted within the framework of the research task INP-2/2018/P/MP funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Głównym celem artykułu jest scharakteryzowanie zarządzania projektami jako subdyscypliny nauk o zarządzaniu oraz wskazanie współczesnych trendów w rozwoju badań w zarządzaniu projektami. Jako metodę badawczą zastosowano przegląd literatury przedmiotu w oparciu o znaczące publikacje w skali krajowej oraz międzynarodowej znajdujące się w renomowanych bazach czasopism naukowych. Na początku zaprezentowano istotę zarządzania projektami jako subdyscypliny nauk o zarządzaniu oraz zidentyfikowano potencjalne problemy metodologiczno-badawcze. Następnie wskazano współczesne wyzwania badawcze oraz wybrane trendy w badaniach z zakresu zarządzania projektami.

The main objective of the article is to characterize the project management as a sub-discipline of the management science and to identify contemporary research trends in project management. The research method applied is literature review based on the significant publications located in reputable scientific databases. At the beginning the essence of project management as a sub-discipline of management sciences was presented. Next, eight current research problems and trends in the field of project management were identified and discussed.

Artykuł poświęcony jest omówieniu Google Books, dostępnej przez Internet biblioteki wirtualnej, obejmującej skany 30 milionów książek. Jest to aktualnie najbogatsze na świecie źródło danych tekstowych w postaci cyfrowej. Zbiory Google Books można nazwać korpusem, ale zasadniczo różnią się one od tradycyjnych korpusów językowych. Kłopoty klasyfikacyjne wynikają z konkretnych ograniczeń, z ja kimi trzeba się zmierzyć w trakcie badań. Między innymi część źródeł to wersje pełnotekstowe, a część – wersje z ograniczonym podglądem, dane bibliograficzne są nierzadko błędne, a jakość optycznego rozpoznawania tekstu, zwłaszcza w przypadku starszych tekstów, jest daleka od doskonałości. Referat omawia krótko problemy badawcze dotyczące Google Books.

This article concerns Google Books, a digital library available on the Internet, which contains scans of 30 million books. At present, it is the largest source of textual data in digital format worldwide. Google Books may be called a corpus, but it is markedly different from traditional language corpora. Classification difficulties arise from specific limitations encountered during research. Among other things, some sources are available as full texts, while others offer limited preview; bibliographic metadata are often wrong; and the quality of optical character recognition is far from perfect, especially when applied to older texts. The article briefly discusses research problems involved in using Google Books.

Podjęty temat dotyczy sposobów konstruowania problemów badawczych w strategii badań jakościowych nad edukacją. Celem tekstu jest wskazanie możliwości zastosowania koncepcji konstruktów myślowych Alfreda Schütza podczas wyznaczania przez badacza obszaru problemowego, ujętego w strukturę pytań pierwszego i drugiego stopnia. Przywołane założenia teoretyczne problematyzowania celu badań posłużyły do opracowania przedmiotu refleksji – zjawiska pułapki w podejmowaniu decyzji badawczych. Pozwoliły też na rozważenie korzyści z doświadczenia pułapki jako punktu zwrotnego w praktyce badacza.

This paper explores the process of the construction of research problems in the qualitative research strategy on education. The aim is to indicate the possibility of applying the Alfred Schütz’ concept of mental constructs during the determining the research problem area. This concept includes constructs of the first and second degree in the research questions. The theoretical assumptions of problematization were used to develop the object of reflection – the phenomenon of a „trap” in making research decisions. They also allowed the author to consider the benefits of „the trap” experience as a turning point in the researcher’s practice.

The text deals with teachers’ attitudes and opinions of the transformation of the Czech schools. It answers the following question: Which are the risky factors for current teachers to be able to adopt the concept of the integrated teaching process and to be able to get rid of residue of the encyclopaedic approach to the teaching process in Czech schools. Teachers’ attitudes and their connection with reflection of their work and their self-reflection are defined briefly. The author describes research problems, questions, hypotheses and aims of the research realised in 20 schools in the city of Ostrava and its neighbourhood within the Research Project of our organisation named New Opportunities in Education of Teachers, Educators and Pupils for the Learning Society of the 21st Century (VZO CEZ: JOB/98: 174500001) during the years 2000– 2003. She interprets results of this research and conclusions following from it for the pedagogical practice.

O potrzebie naukowej biografii Władysława Zamoyskiego (1853-1924)

Although in recent decades Count Władysław Zamoyski has been attracting a lot of interest on the part of historians, which resulted in numerous papers and popular science works, he has not yet been the subject of an exhaustive scientific monograph. Its preparation is, however, going to be a difficult task for its future author. The many dispersed source materials and the Count’s more than 40 years long social, economic, and to a smaller extent political activity under the Prussian partition, in Galicia, among the Polish emigrants in France and during the first years of the Second Polish Republic – need to be described in the historical context, and, what follows, call for broad knowledge extending beyond these sources. Zamoyski’s path leading to his establishment in 1924 of the foundation ”Zakłady Kórnickie” – his life’s grandest work – should constitute the narrative axis weaving through all the chapters of his biography. It would be desirable to present extensively not only the Count’s activity in Galicia, Zakopane and his role in the famous dispute on Morskie Oko, but also his less researched and less known participation in the Polish-German fight for land in the Prussian partition in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Chociaż hrabia Władysław Zamoyski wzbudzał w ostatnich kilku dziesięcioleciach zainteresowanie historyków, owocujące artykułami i pracami popularnonaukowymi, nadal nie doczekał się wyczerpującej naukowej monografii. Jej opracowanie będzie dla przyszłego autora zadaniem trudnym. Liczne i rozproszone materiały źródłowe oraz długa, ponad czterdziestoletnia, działalność społeczna, gospodarcza i w mniejszym zakresie polityczna hrabiego w zaborze pruskim, Galicji, wśród emigracji polskiej we Francji, a także w pierwszych latach II Rzeczypospolitej – wymagają opisania w kontekście historycznym i co za tym idzie, posiadania szerokiej wiedzy pozaźródłowej. Oś narracji przewijającą się przez wszystkie rozdziały biografii powinna stanowić droga prowadząca do utworzenia przez Zamoyskiego w 1924 roku Fundacji „Zakłady Kórnickie” – największego dzieła jego życia. Pożądane byłoby szerokie ukazanie nie tylko działalności hrabiego na terenie Galicji, w Zakopanem i roli w słynnym sporze o Morskie Oko, ale również słabiej dotąd zbadanego i mniej znanego udziału hrabiego w polsko-niemieckiej walce o ziemię w zaborze pruskim w końcu XIX i na początku XX w.
