Basically, all the argumentative techniques worked out on the rhetorical ground can be used in the communication for the Church. Their usefulness depends on the character of the issues which are considered and the type of the recipients to whom the Church turns to. Arguments based on the structure of reality referring to the relations of succession – like a cause- and -effect relation – let the discussion concerning the Church ‘bring down to earth’. Argumentation directed towards seeking the causes deepens understanding of the Church. Defining the results and evaluating the action on the basis of its consequences causes thattalking about the Church is talking about specific life where, yet, the person of Jesus Christ is the principle of everything that is good. The relation ‘ means- aim’ constitutes important space in the argumentation concerning moral issues, and the argument of going beyond is as if a natural technique of moving the moral issues to the spiritual level

Praticamente tutte le tecniche argomentative sviluppate nella retorica possono essere utilizzate nella comunicazione della Chiesa. La loro utilità dipende dalla natura delle questioni affrontate e dal tipo di pubblico a cui la Chiesa si rivolge. Le argomentazioni basate sulla struttura della realtà che si riferisce alle relazioni di successione - come il rapporto causa-effetto - permettono di "riportare la discussione sulla Chiesa con i piedi per terra". Le argomentazioni dirette alla ricerca delle cause approfondiscono la comprensione della Chiesa. Individuare gli effetti e giudicare un'azione in base alle sue conseguenze fa sì che parlare di Chiesa significhi parlare di una vita concreta, in cui però la persona di Gesù Cristo è il principio di tutto ciò che è buono. Il rapporto mezzi-fini è uno spazio importante nell'argomentazione delle questioni morali e l'argomentazione trascendente è come una tecnica naturale per portare le questioni morali al livello spirituale.

Il presente articolo è dedicato al trattamento dell’ipotiposi nel romanzo francese d’età barocca. Dopo aver proposto una definizione di questa figura, intesa come un discorso particolarmente adatto alla rappresentazione di uno « spettacolo » impressionante e patetico, lo studio si concentra sul corpus di Marin Le Roy de Gomberville, autore di romanzi di successo la cui produzione si estende dal 1619 al 1651. Attraverso l’analisi stilistica di alcuni estratti rappresentativi, questo articolo si propone si mettere in luce alcuni elementi di una retorica e di una pragmatica dell’ipotiposi.

This paper considers the treatement of hypotyposis in baroque French narrative fiction. After providing a definition of this figure, understood as a discourse particularly suited to the representation of a striking and pathetic « spectacle », the study focuses on its usage in the corpus of novels by Marin Le Roy de Gomberville, a successful author whose fictional production covers the 1619-1651 period. Through the stylistic study of some representative excerpts, this article aims to identify some elements of a rhetorics and a pragmatics of hypotyposis.
