Part of the movement within Solidarity was Rural Solidarity (Peasant), which started its activity in 1980. The formal legalization of the union took place after the conclusion of the Rzeszów-Ustrzyki agreements in 1981.1 During the negotiations, efforts were made to guarantee the inviolability of peasant property and freedom in land trading, and equating the rights of individual farmers with the rights of state farms, equal social rights for rural and urban residents, favorable changes in education in the countryside and the recognition of religious rights.

Częścią ruchu w obrębie Solidarności była Solidarność Wiejska (Chłopska), która zapoczątkowała swoją działalność w 1980 r. Formalna legalizacja związku nastąpiła po zawarciu porozumień rzeszowsko-ustrzyckich w 1981 r.1 W trakcie negocjacji dążono do zagwarantowania nienaruszalności własności chłopskiej i wolności w obrocie ziemią, zrównania praw rolników indywidualnych z prawami gospodarstw państwowych, zrównania praw socjalnych mieszkańców wsi i miast, korzystnych zmian w oświacie na wsi oraz uznania praw religijnych.
