At the beginning of XIX century a few Polish scientific associations were established. In 2020, one of them, will celebrate its 200th anniversary of existence-Scientific Association of Płock. Herewith are presented the political context, and also other scientific associations that rose in time, which have not survived until the present time. The activity of Scientific Association beside Provincial School in Płock from 1820 to 1830 has also been outlined.

Na początku XIX wieku powstało kilka polskich towarzystw naukowych. Jedno z nich w 2020 roku obchodzi 200-lecie swojego istnienia – Towarzystwo Naukowe Płockie. Przedstawiono kontekst polityczny, jak też inne towarzystwa naukowe powstałe w tym okresie, którym nie było dane dotrwać do obecnych czasów. Zarysowano funkcjonowanie Towarzystwa Naukowego przy Szkole Wojewódzkiej w Płocku w latach 1820-1830.
