Celem artykułu jest analiza relacji zachodzących pomiędzy nakładami inwestycyjnymi a zatrudnieniem w Polsce i porównanie sektorowej struktury zatrudnienia w naszym kraju ze strukturą zatrudnienia w Unii Europejskiej. Przedmiotem analiz była wielkość, dynamika i struktura nakładów inwestycyjnych oraz pracujących w trzech sektorach gospodarki (rolnictwo, przemysł, usługi) oraz w poszczególnych sekcjach sektora usług. Analiza obejmuje okres charakteryzujący się zarówno koniunkturą, jak i dekoniunkturą, przy czym analiza sektorowa obejmuje lata 2002–2011, a analiza zmian zachodzących w sektorze usług lata 2005–2011. Analizę przeprowadzono na podstawie dostępnych, porównywalnych danych GUS oraz literatury z zakresu inwestycji oraz rynku pracy dostępnej w postaci książek, artykułów, raportów. Korzystano także z informacji dotyczących inwestycji i rynku pracy dostępnych w Internecie.

The aim of the article is to analyse the relations occurring between investment outlays and employment in Poland and to compare the sectorial structure of employment in this country with the structure of employment in the European Union. The subject of analyses was the volume, dynamics and structure of investment outlays as well as those working in the three sectors of the economy: agriculture, industry and services as well as in individual sections of the service sector. The analysis covers the period characterised by both boom and recession, and the sectorial analysis covers the years 2002-2011, while the analysis of changes taking place in the service sector – the years 2005-2011. The analysis was carried out on the grounds of available, comparable data of the CSO as well as the literature in the area of investment and the labour market accessible in the form of books, articles, and reports. The author also used the information on investment and labour market accessible on Internet.
