Issues of communication, isolation, and education are part of our everyday lives, whether private or professional. The behaviour of the young generation at school and at home has different forms. It demonstrates their actions, way of thinking and feeling. Furthermore, their behaviour expresses their future tendencies. These forms of behaviour are strongly influenced by a lack of communication. As a result, the educational process is made harder, sometimes even impossible. Many experts in ethics, pedagogy and psychology have been paying attention to this issue and have started to evaluate its impact on the young.

Investigation into the Participation Activity Rate of Foreign Languages Teachers in Specially Focused Network Pedagogical Communities

The authors present the results of research carried out in the 2017/2018 academic year among foreign languages teachers at eight higher education institutions. The aim of the study was to find out the connection between the participation activity rate of foreign languages teachers in specially focused network pedagogical communities and the level of professional self-realization through their self-efficacy. We used methods of mathematical statistics, computer data processing and discursive reflextion for drawing logical conclusions from experimental data. 267 foreign languages teachers from Ukrainian universities participated in the first stage of research. During the second stage, 108 selected foreign languages teachers completed a questionnaire for collecting data and evaluating the level of their self-efficacy. Results indicate a significant difference in the professional self-realization levels among the members and non-members of specially focused network communities and confirm the suggested hypothesis.

This study (N = 449) explores relationships among humanistic spirituality, which in our Humanistic Spirituality Model encompasses the components of self-actualisation, transcendence and ultimate meaning in life, as well as parental and adult attachment styles as lifelong factors in the origin of spirituality. The results indicate that for female participants, humanistic spirituality is predicted by age and secure adult attachment, whereas for male participants, secure attachment to the mother and secure adult attachment are significant positive predictors. Lastly, the effect of secure attachment to the mother on humanistic spirituality for male participants is direct, while for female participants, it is indirect and mediated by secure adult attachment.

Niniejsze badania (N = 449) odnoszą się do relacji między duchowością humanistyczną, która w zaproponowanym Modelu Duchowości Humanistycznej obejmuje komponenty samorealizacji, transcendencji i ostatecznego sensu życia, a stylami przywiązania do rodziców i stylami przywiązania prezentowanymi w dorosłości jako całożyciowymi czynnikami znajdującymi się u źródeł duchowości. Wyniki wskazują, że według uczestniczek badania duchowość humanistyczna jest związana z wiekiem i bezpiecznym przywiązaniem w dorosłości, podczas gdy według uczestników istotnymi predyktorami pozytywnymi są bezpieczne przywiązanie do matki i bezpieczne przywiązanie w dorosłości. Ponadto według uczestników płci męskiej bezpieczne przywiązanie do matki wpływa bezpośrednio na duchowość humanistyczną, podczas gdy według uczestniczek płci żeńskiej wpływ ten jest pośredni i zapośredniczony przez bezpieczne przywiązanie w dorosłości.

The paper reconsiders selected themes of the contemporary culture of individualism, particularly related to the therapeutic discourse as analysed by Małgorzata Jacyno. The subjects that are covered in the internet self-help and personal development books constitute the crucial part of this discourse requiring further analysis. The main difference concerns their online accessibility as well as peculiarities of the blogging and e-commerce activities of the personal development consultants and business coaches. Aforementioned themes concerning self-improvement, freeing oneself of the conventional success oppression or life crises overcoming are presented within the notion of success management. This notion undoubtedly needs further analysis as a systematic offer on the personal development market as well as one of the scenarios of individual self-identification involving mainly the realisation of the personal internal potential despite any external circumstances and structural prerequisites.

Wartykule zostały przedstawione wybrane wątki współczesnej kultury indywidualizmu, wszczególności związane zdyskursem terapeutycznym wujęciu nawiązującym do koncepcji Małgorzaty Jacyno. Treści pojawiające się w internetowych poradnikach rozwoju osobistego stanowią część tego dyskursu, wymagającą dalszej analizy ze względu na specyfikę ich dostępności online, a także osobliwości funkcjonowania doradców rozwoju osobistego i coachów biznesu w blogosferze i sferze e-commerce. Wspomniane wątki dotyczące samodoskonalenia, uwolnienia się spod opresji konwencjonalnego sukcesu czy pokonania kryzysów życiowych zostały przedstawione w ramach pojęcia zarządzania sukcesem. To pojęcie niewątpliwie wymaga dalszej analizy jako usystematyzowana oferta na rynku rozwoju osobistego oraz jako jeden ze scenariuszy samoidentyfikacji jednostki ludzkiej, nawiązującej do realizacji jej potencjału wewnętrznego, a pomijającej wszelkie zewnętrzne okoliczności i uwarunkowania strukturalne.
