There are many factors influencing the level and changes of the labour productivity. One of the useful methods of identifying these factors is shift-share approach. It makes it possible to determine if the sectoral structure or the level of competitiveness of the economy affects the dynamics and differentiation of labour productivity. The research concerned countries of the European Union, covered the period of 1999-2006 and was conducted for six main economic sectors. All examined countries were characterized by constant growth of labour productivity which was mainly caused by the increasing productivity in market financial services. The basic reason of productivity diversification was a country's competitiveness. The positive relation between sectoral structure and regional component also occurred.

Celem przeprowadzonych badań jest próba określenia regionalnych potencjałów rozwoju przedsiębiorstw branży budowlanej z uwzględnieniem struktury ich finansów. Jako narzędzie inżynierii obliczeniowej, wykorzystane do określenia potencjałów rozwoju, zastosowano analizę przesunięć udziałów (shift share-analysis - SSA). Użycie SSA miało na celu zbadanie zmian jakie zachodzą w przestrzenni geograficznej, w określonym przedziale czasu. Wykorzystanie analizy przesunięć udziałów, umożliwiło zbadanie i ocenę poziomu rozwoju regionu na tle rozwoju referencyjnego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aspektów finansowych przedsiębiorstw. Przeprowadzone badania pozwolą na wskazanie zmian w strukturze finansów przedsiębiorstw branży budowlanej z uwzględnieniem elementów składowych wyniku finansowego, tj. przychodów, kosztów oraz zapasów.

The aim of the conducted research is an attempt to define regional potentials of construction enterprises’ development, taking into consideration their financial structure. As a computational engineering tool, applied in order to define development potentials, shift-share analysis was used. The application of shift-share analysis aimed at the examination of changes which occur in the geographical sphere in a particular period of time. The application of shift-share analysis enabled research and assessment of regional development level against reference development with particular consideration the financial aspects of enterprises. The conducted research will enable to indicate changes in the financial structure of construction enterprises, taking into account components of the financial result i.e. revenues, costs and stocks
