Modern family undergoes many transformations such as social, moral, cultural, administrative, civilization and others. It seems important to analyze the social policy from the point of view of the effects for the family, especially being in crisis. Focusing on dysfunctional families for the purpose of family policy in Poland should include primarily: the development of foster care, family support in the implementation of their social function (preventive measures in the form of work with the family or family assist), to support the financial situation of families with children (e.g provide a child with education). Analysis of the information contained in the regulations have been enriched with material derived through online research through thematic forums, chat rooms, social networking sites in a group of social workers. Questions covered the following thematic areas: realities and possibilities vs. expectations of social assistance’s clients, family support in problematic situations.

Przemiany społeczno-kulturowe w naszym kraju wywołały nowe potrzeby i wyzwania, a w konsekwencji zapoczątkowały reformy systemu opiekuńczego. Reformy koncentrowały się dotychczas na rozwijaniu rodzinnych form pieczy zastępczej i minimalizowaniu udziału w opiece nad dziećmi instytucji opiekuńczo-wychowawczych. Analizy informacji zawartych w najnowszych regulacjach prawnych wzbogacono o materiał pozyskany dzięki badaniom internetowym za pośrednictwem forów tematycznych, czatów, portali społecznościowych w grupie pracowników pomocy społecznej. Pytania dotyczyły kilku rozwiązań zaproponowanych w ustawie o wspieraniu rodziny i systemie pieczy zastępczej, tj.: rodzina pomocowa, koordynator rodzinnej pieczy zastępczej, w tym także współpraca koordynatora i pracownika socjalnego.
