W artykule zaprezentowano strukturalne ujęcie korpusów zawodowej służby wojskowej jako warstw społecznych. Autor pokazuje, odwołując się przy tym do badań empirycznych, że takie ujęcie jest nie tylko uzasadnione, ale ma swoje konsekwencje. Jako przykład podaje szczególną sytuację szeregowych zawodowych.

This article treats each of the military corps – commissioned ranks, non-commissioned ranks and privates – as a social stratum. The author uses the empirical evidence to justify this view and shows its consequences on the example of the privates.

The article deals with figurative meanings of nominations of the social hierarchy relating to the upper, middle and lower strata of Russian society of the 18th and 19th centuries, and their reflection in the explanatory dictionary of the beginning of the 21st century. The use of adjectives, formed from personal nouns in the Russian National Corpus in the period 2000–2017, is analyzed.
