Educational aspirations of our society are very high. One of the factors explaining this phenomenon are high parental aspirations for their children’s education. This paper presents the results of other authors and own research to illustrate this effect. An attempt to clarify refers to the relationship between parents' educational aspirations for their children’s and their expectations for children's success in life.

Aspiracje edukacyjne naszego społeczeństwa są bardzo wysokie. Jednym z czynników wyjaśniających to zjawisko są wysokie aspiracje rodziców w stosunku do własnych dzieci. Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań innych autorów oraz badania własne ilustrujące to zjawisko. Próba jego wyjaśnienia nawiązuje do relacji pomiędzy aspiracjami edukacyjnymi rodziców a oczekiwaniami dotyczącymi sukcesu życiowego dzieci.
