Edukacja seksualna dziecka z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną po dzień dzisiejszy stanowi obszar często pomijany w dyskursie społecznym. Prawidłowy przebieg procesu wychowawczego dodatkowo utrudnia stereotypowe postrzeganie seksualności osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Z uwagi na fakt, iż zagadnienie to nadal nie zostało w pełni rozpoznane i pozostawia realizatorom dużą dowolność interpretacyjną (zwłaszcza w przypadku uczniów z umiarkowanym i znacznym stopniem niepełnosprawności intelektualnej), stało się tematem niniejszych rozważań. Analizie poddane zostały dostępne źródła literaturowe, które następnie wzbogacono o zebrany w wyniku badania sondażowego materiał empiryczny. Celem nadrzędnym było poznanie opinii nauczycieli na temat skutków wychowania seksualnego dziecka z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Omówienie zebranego materiału poprzedzono jednak analizą formalno-prawnej podstawy realizowanych zagadnień edukacji seksualnej. Uzyskane wyniki badań pozwoliły zaprezentować dość szczegółowe dane na temat pozycji wychowania seksualnego w szkolnictwie specjalnym, a także jego znaczenia dla funkcjonowania i dalszego rozwoju dziecka. Ponadto podjęto próbę zdefiniowania grup podlegających i odpowiedzialnych za organizację ww. procesu, a także określenia etapu edukacyjnego, na którym jego rozpoczęcie jest wskazane.

Sexual education of a child with intellectual disability is still an area often overlooked in social discourse. The proper course of the educational process additionally hinders the stereotypical perception of the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities. Since this issue has still not been fully recognized and leaves agreat deal of room for interpretation (especially for students with moderate and severe intellectual disability), it became the subject of these analyses. The available literature sources were analyzed and subsequently enriched with empirical material obtained through a survey. The main goal was to get to know the opinion of teachers on the effects of sexual education of a child with intellectual disability. The discussion on the collected material was preceded, however, by the formal and legal analysis of the basics of sexual education. The obtained research results allowed to present fairlydetailed data on the position of sexual education in special education as well as its significance for the functioning and further development of the child. Moreover, an attempt has been made to define groups subject to and responsible for the organization of the process, as well as to define the educational stage at which it is advisable to start the process.
