The problem of interaction of textual and bodily codes in postmodern literature is increasingly attracting attention of foreign and Ukrainian researchers. Postmodern literature as a paradigm, which marked its domination in the first phase of the development of postmodern culture with bright poetical expression, exhibits a specific approach to this problem which deserves a special attention of researchers. In this study we are going to focus on intertwining of textual and bodily codes in the works of well-known representatives of Serbian postmodern literature, such as Milorad Pavić, Sava Damjanov and Goran Petrović.

The article describes the use of sweets motif in recent Serbian literature using the example of an anthology of short stories Poslastičarske priče by David Albahar and Vladan Mijatović Živojinov (Belgrade 2012). The author of the article is primarily interested in the use of the subject which triggers reflections on culture, focused on the problems of civilization and the impact of relevant experience of cultural difference and otherness. Sweets — their flavour, appearance, way of production and distribution — in analyzed works are considered arepresentation, but also ametaphor for aparticular historical and cultural reality. The proximity effect, used in these stories — raising the awareness of the everyday, aprivate, intimate sphere of life, details, somatic dimension of memory, both individual and collective — can be used to make aredefinition of Turkish heritage in the reception and evaluation of its place in contemporary culture of the Balkans.

There were translated about thirty books of Serbian literature in the period from 2007 to 2013, most of them were books of poetry. There were little number of translations in the literary magazines and journals. The number of translations is quite big but the reception of Serbian literature and culture was weak. The wars which accompanied the decay of the Second Yugoslavia has had big negative influence on the reception of Serbian literature and culture. Nowadays, after the fall of communism, literary contacts depend on initiative of individuals, the institution of translation literature has gone through the process of privatization.
