The purpose of the research is to determine the impact of the level of speech development on the process of adaptation to the preschool environment. 93 children aged 2;8 – 7;11 with a delayed speech disorder participated. They were tested by means of four tools: the Lee Northwestern Syntax Screening Test, the Boehm Basic Concepts Test, Tarkowski’s Speech Therapy Screening Test and Brzezińska, Czub and Ożadowicz Adaptation Strategy Questionnaire. On this basis, it was established that the level of language development in children with delayed speech disorder is significantly lower than average and they have great difficulties of simple sentences comprehension. Their strategy of adaptation to the preschool environment was varied. Children with delayed speech disorder had the highest scores on the Creative Adaptation Scale, slightly lower on the Anxiety and Submission Scale, and the lowest scores on the Scale of Rebellion and Regret. A statistically significant relationship between the level of comprehension of the statement and creative adaptation to preschool was established in the study group. It also correlates positively with the level of language development. However, a negative correlation was found between the language development and behaviour indicating anxiety and submission. It is also worrying that the tested children with delayed speech disorder represented 37% of a private preschool with total of 253 children.

Celem przeprowadzonych badań jest określenie wpływu poziomu rozwoju mowy na proces adaptacji do środowiska przedszkolnego. Uczestniczyło w nich 93 dzieci w wieku 2;8 – 7;11 lat z rozpoznaniem opóźnionego rozwoju mowy. Zostały one zbadane Testem rozumienia zdań Laury L. Lee, Testem pojęć podstawowych Ann E. Boehm, Przesiewowym testem logopedycznym Zbigniewa Tarkowskiego oraz Kwestionariuszem strategii adaptacji Anny I. Brzezińskiej, Magdaleny Czub i Natalii Ożadowicz. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników ustalono, że poziom rozwoju języka u dzieci opóźnionych w rozwoju mowy jest istotnie niższy od przeciętnego oraz że badani mają duże trudności w rozumieniu zdań prostych. Ich profil strategii adaptacji do środowiska przedszkolnego był zróżnicowany. Dzieci opóźnione w rozwoju mowy najwyższe wyniki uzyskały w skali twórczej adaptacji, nieco niższe w skali lęku i uległości, a najniższe w skali buntu i rozżalenia. W badanej grupie ustalono statystycznie istotną zależność między poziomem rozumienia wypowiedzi a twórczą adaptacją do środowiska przedszkolnego. Koreluje ona także dodatnio z poziomem rozwoju językowego. Natomiast stwierdzono ujemną korelację między tym rozwojem a zachowaniem świadczącym o lęku i uległości. Niepokojące jest także to, że badane dzieci opóźnione w rozwoju mowy stanowiły 37% niepublicznej placówki przedszkolnej liczącej 253 dzieci.

The purpose of the paper is to analyze the ambivalent character of success in the social world of artists. The analysis is conducted taking into account the context of the broadened field of culture, and special attention is paid to the set of meanings that artists attach to success. Much of the discussion revolves around the significance of the transformation of the field of culture for artists’ adaptation strategies. In consequence, the paper deals with the reconstruction of managing artist careers while taking into consideration their precarious experiences in the field of arts. Empirical material is used to depict the difficulties and doubts regarding reaching success in art worlds as well as to explain the determinants of the defensive and compensative strategy of managing success. As a result, conclusions are drawn concerning the means artists use to hack the rules of the game in the broadened field of culture.

Celem artykułu jest analiza ambiwalentnego charakteru kategorii sukcesu w świecie społecznym artystów. W tekście przedstawiam znaczenia sukcesu z perspektywy twórców, osadzając narracje zogniskowane wokół sukcesu w kontekście przemian poszerzonego pola kultury. Wyjaśniam, jakie znaczenie ma transformacja pola kultury dla strategii adaptacyjnych stosowanych przez artystów. Odwołując się do prekarnych doświadczeń twórców, dokonuję rekonstrukcji sposobów zarządzania przez nich ich własnymi karierami. Bazując na zebranym materiale empirycznym, próbuję jednocześnie odpowiedzieć na pytanie o trudności i wątpliwości związane z osiąganiem sukcesu w środowisku artystycznym oraz opisać uwarunkowania defensywno-kompensacyjnej strategii zarządzania sukcesem. W zakończeniu tekstu formułuję wnioski dotyczące sposobów hakowania przez artystów reguł gry zainstalowanych w poszerzonym polu kultury.
