The article presents the issue of substitute money in Regierungsbezirk Stettin (Province of Pomerania) during the period of inflation and hyperinflation in 1922–1923. Legal issues related to issuing substitute money, regulations of central authorities, document circulation, competences of individual officials and rules for granting emission permits were analysed. Also the economic situation in the German Reich and Pomeranian cities during the Hypernflation was taken into consideration. In the paper, the archives of the presidium department of the Regierungsbezirk Stettin stored in the State Archives were used.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę emisji pieniądza zastępczego w rejencji szczecińskiej (prowincja Pomorze) w okresie inflacji oraz hiperinflacji w latach 1922–1923. Analizie poddano kwestie prawne związane z wydawaniem pieniędzy zastępczych, rozporządzenia władz centralnych, obieg dokumentów, kompetencje poszczególnych urzędników oraz zasady przyznawania zezwoleń emisyjnych. Zwrócono również uwagę na sytuację gospodarczą w Rzeszy Niemieckiej oraz miast pomorskich w okresie Wielkiej Inflacji. W artykule wykorzystano dokumenty z wydziału prezydialnego rejencji szczecińskiej znajdujące się w Archiwum Państwowym w Szczecinie.
