The audit of gratuities and compensations due to the ban of competition was conducted by NIK at 28 strategic State Treasury companies, at the request of the Committee for Energy and State Treasure of the Sejm (lower house of the Polish Parliament). The objective of the audit was to evaluate the legal and economic justification for the financial benefits granted and paid to the managing staff. The basic audit criterion was the legality and economy of the decisions and activities taken. In his article, the author presents the main findings of this audit.
