Currently, technological parks constitute the most organisational and conceptually developed type of innovation centres and entrepreneurship. This results in the fact that they can be encountered in all highly developed countries in the world. They are also formed in the catching-up countries. However, one should consider whether the stimulation of innovation in the countries, which are not based on knowledge through institutional solutions used in the developed countries will turn out to be effective. Because between these countries there is a technological gap. The aim of the article was therefore to determine, using the probit modelling, the direction and strength of technological parks on the innovation activity. The study covered two provinces: Silesian, which is one of the most developed regions in Poland and Pomeranian with the intermediate industrial system. The influence of technological parks on innovation was determined based on the survey conducted in 1453 industrial enterprises. The main conclusions are brought down to the following theses: (1) using the technological parks increases the chance for the implementation of new solutions by enterprises, (2) parks to a greater extent stimulate the innovation activity in the developed province, (3) enterprises entering in the cross-regional network relations favours the selection of the technological park as the catalyst for innovation processes.

Globalisation embraces primarily those cities which are the main nodes of the global economic network. It is there that great transnational corporations locate their activity, an intensive information exchange takes place, and the largest global flows are recorded. Cities strive to adapt their economic and spatial structure to the requirements of the competitive global economy by undertaking huge infrastructural investments and developing new forms of economic space organisation, including scientific-technological parks, high-quality spaces providing services to manufacturers and business, and modern office sectors where headquarters of global corporations, international economic organisations and financial institutions are concentrated. The aim of this paper is to analyse the resources of modern business space, in particular high-quality office premises and technological parks, in Polish cities in the age of globalisation.

Globalizacja obejmuje swym zasięgiem przede wszystkim miasta, które staja się głównymi węzłami w globalnej sieci gospodarczej. To tutaj swoją działalność lokalizują wielkie korporacje transnarodowe, następuje intensywna wymiana informacji i odnotowywane są największe przepływy globalne. Miasta próbują dostosować swoją strukturę gospodarczą i przestrzenną do wymagań konkurencyjnej gospodarki globalnej podejmując wielkie inwestycje infrastrukturalne oraz rozwijając nowe formy organizacji przestrzeni gospodarczej, w tym parki naukowo-technologiczne, wysokiej jakości przestrzenie świadczenia usług dla producentów i biznesu, nowoczesne dzielnice biurowe, będące miejscem koncentracji siedzib zarządów korporacji globalnych, międzynarodowych organizacji gospodarczych i instytucji finansowych. Celem opracowania jest analiza działalności korporacji transnarodowych w polskich miastach oraz zasobów nowoczesnej przestrzeni dla prowadzenia biznesu, w szczególności wysokiej jakości powierzchni biurowych oraz parków technologicznych w polskich miastach w dobie dynamicznej globalizacji.

W artykule przedstawiono budowę Krajowego i Regionalnych Systemów Innowacji, zakres ich działania oraz kompetencji. Zaprezentowano charakterystykę Centrów Transferu Technologii, ich podstawowe cele działania, genezę powstania oraz najważniejsze plany rozwojowe. Zaprezentowano Inkubatory Technologiczne i Akademickie Inkubatory Przedsiębiorczości, ich ofertę oraz strukturę przedsiębiorstw w inkubatorach. Omówiono zasoby Parków Technologicznych, strukturę ich lokatorów oraz bariery i szansę ich rozwoju.

The article presents the structure of the Domestic and Regional Innovation Systems, the range of their operations and competences. The Canters of Technology Transfer, the basic aims of their operations, the formation genesis as well as the most important development plans are also characterised. What is further more presented are the Technological and Academic Incubators of Enterprise, their range and the structure of enterprises being in incubators. Finally, the article discusses resources of the Technological Parks, the structure of their occupants plus barriers and opportunities of their development.
