Szkoła, niczym społeczny tygiel, stanowi przestrzeń rozmaitych interakcji i zachowań o niejednokrotnie odmiennym charakterze. Celem tego tekstu jest przyjrzenie się sposobom, w jakie uczniowie wchodzą w interakcje ze światem szkolnym oraz ukazanie pewnej logiki ich zachowań. Pierre Bourdieu, którego optyka teoretyczna stanowi podstawy powziętych przeze mnie badań, określił te rodzaje interakcji dychotomicznie mianem pedantyzmu, charakterystycznego dla tzw. „uczniów pokornych”, oraz pewności siebie tzw. „uczniów-światowców”, podkreślając zasadnicze różnice w ich modalności do kultury i języka, przejawiające się w różnych sposobach ich funkcjonowania w świecie szkolnym. Niniejszy tekst opowiada o tychże odmiennych sposobach interakcji w świecie szkolnym ze względu na przynależność klasową, przywołując konkretne sytuacje z życia szkolnego dla zobrazowania Bourdianowskiej teorii habitusu oraz teorii kapitału.

School, like a social melting pot, is a space for diverse interactions and behaviours, often of quite a different nature. The aim of this text is to look at the ways in which pupils from varying social backgrounds interact with the school world as well as to demonstrate the logic of their behaviour. Pierre Bourdieu, whose theoretical approach forms the basis of my research, has dichotomised these types of interactions as ‘pedantism’, a characteristic of the so-called ‘humble pupil’s, and ‘self-confidence’, that of the so-called ‘worldly pupils’ (‘mondains’), highlighting the fundamental differences in their modality to culture and language, manifested in their different ways of being and reacting in the school world. This text discusses these various ways of interaction with and at school based on pupils’ social class affiliation, highlighting specific situations from school life to illustrate Bourdieusian theory of capital and habitus.
